Grave Miasma (UK) "Odori Sepulcrorum" (2013)
Now with the debut full-length finally ready to be unleashed, GRAVE MIASMA are poised to take their claim and reign amongst the death metal elite. Pure occult death metal levitation, “Odori Sepulcrorum” is an album which will bring the death metal scene to a new level with no death metal album in 2013 to match its power, encapsulates ritual-like power and darkness that will define a new sense of artistry in the genre of death metal.
Harnessing an uncanny heaving atmosphere and a powerful aesthetic, GRAVE MIASMA have created a milestone in occult death metal with “Odori Sepulcrorum”. An album that will go down as a classic of the genre and serve its purpose as the milestone death metal album of our cursed age.
Initially conceived in 2002 under the guise of Goat Molestor, it was not until 2008 when the London, UK occult death metal alchemists would take their aesthetic to new plateaus of invincibility by re-naming themselves GRAVE MIASMA. A debut 35-minute EP entitled “Exalted Emanation” would surface alongside their “Realm Of Evoked Doom” compilation EP (which compiled material from their Goat Molestor demo days) and instantly, GRAVE MIASMA would make a huge impact on the death metal underground worldwide. Their devastating live shows also helped the band gain recognition, being specifically asked to play many of the reputable festivals in Europe and North America, all this even before any kind of full-length album was even released.
Commention to this release from bandcamp band supporters :
"Grave Miasma spew forth their dense and choking brand of death metal that whispers of the occult, darkness, and pure devastation." - Matthew Toye
"Atmospheric, haunting dungeon-death metal that both evokes classic bands and has a unique sound of it's own." - Jonathan Donnelly
"Death metal that fully fulfills the 'death' part of the genre tag - it sounds like a haunted mortuary. Atmospheric, dank and oppressive. Bloody lovely." - SDHoneymonster
"Finally a DM band who let their influences shape their sound instead of letting them rule it. From the brutal heaviness of Incantation to the sonics of Morbid Angel, Grave Miasma wear their influences for all to see. They blend it all together to make a must have album for any self-respecting DM fan. Brilliant release." - Stiffncold
""possibly the death metal album of the year" - Ewan Frater
"Perfect fusion of blackened death madness. If you like your metal dark and sludgy, give this one a spin." - Vrhovny
